The aircraft structural safety and its high reliability in life time must be considered as the primary problem during aircraft design. Not only the feasibility of technology and economy but the social acceptance should be considered upon the choice of reliability index. The failure rates for major components of the civil aircraft structures are given based on the aircraft failure probability statistical conclusion and the reliability factors of the major components.
