Based on need for specific functions to be delegated and the ability to manage a designee,FAA grants authorization to designees,on behalf of the FAA to perform certification duties. In order to manage designees,FAA established a detailed management process, including application, selection, appointment, orientation, training, oversight, suspension and termination of designees.
