Abstract:This paper introduces the concept of head injury criterion (HIC), airworthiness requirements and the HIC related parameters which effected front row passenger seats in economy class cabin of transport aircraft. Effect of parameters on Seat Setback Distance with Bulkhead panel , bulkhead panel stiffness, safety belt webbing elongation, the friction coefficient between the ATD and surface of the seat is presented. HIC compliant design of the front row passenger seats in economy class and bulkhead panel is suggested.
