The research background and varieties of new-type fire extinguishing agent were introduced. Physical and chemical performance, toxicity, causticity, fire extinguishing performance and environmental protection performance of the potential new-type fire extinguishing agent were deeply analyzed and studied. The varieties of fire extinguishing agents which are suited to be used in civil aircraft were confirmed and the advantages and disadvantages of fire extinguishing agent were obtained through researching new-type fire extinguishing agent performance.
